Be your own customer

Our last Whiteboard Wednesday for the year. Today Ben reminds us on the importance of being our own customer.

Hi and welcome to our special Christmas edition of Whiteboard Wednesday.

Got a little bit of theme in here, I hope you're all having a great Christmas or festive season, and soon to be a great Christmas. What we're going to talk about today is something I've seen floating around on LinkedIn, it's the disruptors of industry. You might have seen this post across this week. Things like Netflix didn't kill Blockbuster, ridiculous late fees did. Or Uber didn't kill the taxi industry, limited access and bad fares is what killed the taxi industry.

And I think this is a really important point to make as we think about what you're going to do in 2019 for your business. It's about being customer centric. It's about thinking about what you're doing to change old processes in your business to always be delivering value to your customers. One of my favourite little sayings is are you being your own customer?

So, that's my short little message to you or your business, whether you're in retail or anything else, is think about you being a customer of your own business in 2019. Think about how you're delivering value, and how you're going to change everything that you need to do to make sure that you're still relevant and thriving the way you should in 2019.
